Jan Late McMillan Study Lounge Opening & Dedication

In 1969, Jan Late McMillan graduated from UT Austin with a degree in elementary education and embarked on a career that would leave a lasting impact on the field of special education. Jan’s commitment to education gave rise to the establishment of the Dyslexia Certificate Program in the College of Education. The Jan Late McMillan Study Lounge opened on October 30, 2023. Located on the first floor of the George I. Sanchez Building, this dedicated space will serve as a reminder that we must continue to reimagine education if we want to change the world.

MVP Movie Screening with Nate Boyer

COE alumnus, former Green Beret and NFL player, Nate Boyer, B.S. ‘13 hosted an evening screening of his film “MVP”. Directed, co-written and featuring Boyer, the movie is based on the true story behind MVP, the non-profit, Merging Vets & Players (MVP), where combat veterans and former professional athletes find purpose and identity once the uniform comes off.
